I am not satisfied with the video quality after using the standard convert mode with Voltaic 2.0.2.

I have RAW-material which was shot in 1440x1080i.

The original looks like this and it`s even showing the 16:9-Format by using Toast Video Player:

You see, it looks okay.

But after converting it by even keeping the same resolution etc. I see horizontal lines. In Quick Time Player 7 it looks like this:

The file opened in 16:9-Format:

In Quicktime Player 10 the converted file is opening now in the 4:3 - Format but also with horizontal lines:

It seems like that only every fifth frame looks okay in the converted file.

Voltaic 1.8.8 used the AIC-Codec by default and in QTPlayer 10 it opens in 16:9-Format (not MPEG-4 like above) but I also see horizontal lines:

HOW CAN I GET RID OF THESE HORIZONTAL LINES to get a result which comes close to the original movie ???

And why is Voltaic 2 using MPEG-4 by default and not AIC?

Interlaced video

Please try Deinterlacing the video when converting. The lines you see are the interlaced mode of recording by your camera.

This is an option under Advanced Preferences.

To make sure that you go to AIC, please make sure you use the default Convert action when converting.

I used the default Convert

I used the default Convert action with Voltaic 2.0.2 but the output file was MPEG-4 and not AIC.

I also checked "Deinterlace" in the advanced preferences.

Therefore in my opinion there must be another reason why I get this bad quality.

I just a bought a licence for another program and I am very satisfied with the results there.

BTW, I only have this problem with Voltaic when I try to convert 1440x1080i videos.

It`s doing a good job with 1280x720 videos.

Default action

Our "Convert" action should always create AIC.

Please try deleting your preferences file (under your home area: Library/Preferences/com.shedworx.VoltaicHD.pllist) as we've got an unconfirmed but report that Custom settings are being applied to other actions in some cases.
