I've converted a couple of hundred AVCHD Lite (720p) MTS files created by a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1/DMC-FT1 to WMV.
In two of the resulting files, the video stream freezes at a specific point during playback but the audio stream continues playing. This occurs with both Windows Media Player and VLC.
In the source MTS files, at the point where the WMV freezes, there is a noticeable pause (~0.5 sec) during playback at the same point, but the MTS video continues to play.
When converting the same MTS files to MP4 using Handbrake, the resulting MP4 plays back in full but with the same pause as the MTS file.
I'd prefer to use WMV files for making quick compilations with Windows Movie Maker. Any ideas as to what is going wrong with these two files?
The voltaichd.log file contains the following message during the YUV Decoder section:
An unintentional loss of pictures occurs! Exit
Error in Decoding: An unintentional loss of pictures occurs! Exit
MTS problem
Hi tony,
it looks like a problem with the video stream in the AVCHD file.
If you can send in the files to support@shedworx.com, we will have a look at them.
Thanks
Justin
The MTS files are 50mb each.
The MTS files are 50mb each. Do you have somewhere I can upload them rather than using email?

Thanks Justin. I've uploaded the two MTS files, they are named Byron09.mts and Flinders01.mts
I've also uploaded the wmv versions converted by VoltaicHD that freeze (Byron09.wmv and Flinders01.wmv).

File problems
Hi Tony,
We've found a problem with both the files. We will look at updating our code to handle the problems, if possible.
These problems with AVCHD files are very rare, but are often caused by the SD Card. The SD cards have to be class 6 or better to give trouble free recording.
Please check this and let us know.

Hi Justin, Forgive the
Hi Justin,
Forgive the lateness of my reply. While I mostly use a fast SD card for HD video, I have used a standard SD card on occasion which may very well be the cause of this issue. I will make sure to only use the fast cards in future. Thanks.
Corrupt AVCHD files
Hi Tony,
I'm glad you checked back :)
We have fixed the problem encountered with your files. There was a minor corruption in both of them. We've updated our converter to skip the corrupted frames so they will convert now. This is available on both Mac and pc betas now
